How Insoles Change Posture
Posture does not start at the shoulders or the lower back. It starts with how the body reads the ground it stands on.
Can insoles change your posture?
An arch-support insole holds the foot in a shape. A proprioceptive insole does something different: it stimulates the sole of the foot so the brain gets a clearer picture of the ground, and the body organizes itself around that clearer picture. Posture is a brain output, and the feet are where the brain's picture of standing begins.
What proprioceptive means
Proprioception is the body's sense of where it is in space. Therapeutic Insoles use texture rather than arch support: worn under any shoe, they work passively during normal daily movement, including while sitting, as long as the foot stays in contact with them. Nothing to practice and nothing to remember.
Support holds a foot still. Training changes what the body does when nothing is holding it.
